The Truth About Female Fat Loss - W10 Personal Training Gym

There’s a lot of nonsense written about women’s fitness.

I don’t pretend to empathise with some of the less tangible aspects of female training, such as body image and social conformity, but I do wholeheartedly believe that women are mostly fed an unhealthy health and fitness diet of media BS.

There is no doubt that the tide is turning towards more effective forms of training that are more about health, functional strength and physical capacity beyond tiny-weeny weights and elliptical trainers, but some common myths are dying hard!

Big Fat Lies

‘Lifting heavy weights gives you bulky muscles’, ‘core training burns belly fat’ and ‘cardio is best for fat loss’ are some of the ones that immediately spring to mind, but there are a few to are still plaguing our pages.

Our membership base is now an even split of men and women. This wasn’t always the case, but it didn’t happen because we placed a few ads in the right magazines or said the kind of things that are completely wrong but get picked up by the press. It happened because we help our female members look, move and feel better.

We don’t subscribe to the dumbing down of women’s fitness.   Our approach to training women differs slightly from the way we train men but the principles are the same.

We’ve addressed some of the common myths and summarised a different approach in our female e-book.
