• Tough Mudder Runs in London 2019

    By The W10 Team

2019 is here, and the most epic run in the UK is gearing up. The Tough Mudder run of 2019 promises to be bigger, more difficult, and more epic than ever before. There will be more obstacles to overcome, more fun to have, and better versions of everything previous Mudder runs have had to offer.

    London Tough Mudders

Tough mudders will take place throughout diverse parts of greater London and will be spread out over several months.

    London South

    Location: Finsbury Park

    Date: 12th and 13th April 2013

The first Tough Mudder event of 2019 will take place at Finsbury Park in London South. It will kick off on a light note with the 5K course – the Classic course will be reserved for the other two courses.

The 5K course will nevertheless be explosive. It will feature most of the classic obstacles as well as several new ones. Being the first phase of the 2019 Tough Mudder, you can expect to see an overwhelming turnout for participants as well as spectators. The fun will also go beyond the gruelling race as there will be many interesting things to do and see on the sidelines, including great food and refreshing drinks to go with.

    London West

Location: Culden Faw, Henley on Thames

    Date: 4th and 5th May 2019

The second phase of the Tough Mudder run will take place in the beautiful Culden Faw Estate, just an hour west of London. It promises to be the most epic phase of the 2019 run and the most thrilling so far.

This phase will include an entirely new course with new challenges that will test your mental and physical endurance to the limit; it will feature five entirely new and creative challenges. It will also feature many of the common, classic challenges including steep inclines, rolling hills, and a thick forest, all of which you have to navigate.

This phase will also feature the 5K course and all the fun and challenges it has to offer. Challenges to look forward to on this course include the Block Ness Monster, Everest, and Kiss of Death, among others. It will run for just 5 kilometres and should prove fair to everyone looking for a challenge.

    London South

    Location: Holmbush Estate, West Sussex

    Date: 21st and 22nd September 2019

The second phase of the run will head to the stunning scenery of Holmbush Estate, just one hour south of London. It will feature both the classic and 5K Tough Mudder courses, both of which will be highlighted by gruelling yet fun obstacles to overcome. The weekend promises to be fun both for participants as well as spectators.

Come Solo or Bring Your Team

Tough Mudder is all about teamwork, and this year is expected to feature the greatest turnout so far. Everyone is invited to participate or simply observe and cheer on the sides.

If you are a spectator you can come solo or bring your own team of friends and family members. Those who choose to come solo are guaranteed to find company in other solo participants, and you can come together with other participants to form a team during the run.

Spectators are also welcome, and the settings will be convenient enough to give you an up-close view of the run so that you can cheer your favourite participants on and even snap one or two pictures for keepsakes; the 5K course will run around the Mudder Villages to offer a close-up view of the action while enjoying the delicious foods and drinks that will be on offer.

Mudder Village – Food, Drinks, and Tons of Fun

All that running, ducking, sliding, and everything else you will need to do to complete the most challenging Tough Mudder yet is sure to work up an appetite.

Fortunately, there will be lots of delicious foods and snacks to nibble on in Mudder Villages that will feature in each of the runs. Besides great food, you will also enjoy a wide range of refreshing drinks to make the event merrier after a gruelling challenge. This is also where you can catch up with friends, family, and other participants.

    What to Bring

Your greatest asset for the 2019 Tough Mudder will be resilience to overcome all the mental and physical obstacles that will be laid out. However, you will be required to bring several other things to be eligible for participation. They include:

    • A valid photo ID
    • A signed copy of the electronic waiver – you can get one online
    • Tickets from Active.com – you can have them printed or stored digitally on your phone
    • A confirmation email for start time

It is advisable to arrive at least 45 minutes before the starting time to give you ample time to get verified and warm up. All the items on the list will be necessary for you to become eligible for the run. Also, be sure to bring some money to spend – proceeds from the run will go to charity!

    What to Wear

It will be muddy, so be sure to dress for the occasion! Dress in comfortable clothing that will not inhibit your performance as the obstacles are guaranteed to be challenging. You may also dress up in a costume to add some style to the run – the choice is entirely yours.

You should also bring a bag drop with a set of clean clothes to change once you complete the run – if you don’t have one you are welcome to rent one for only £3. Cleaning facilities will be available for you to freshen up after the muddy run.

    Epic Year

2019 promises to be an epic year for the London Tough Mudder. With three runs scheduled across South and West London, there will be enough opportunities for everyone to get in on the fun. Expect many of the classic challenges as well as several new challenges that will push your mental and physical endurance to the limit.

    Training

Training for tough mudders requires a broad range of fitness. Elements of endurance, power endurance, strength, strength endurance and mental resilience will all play their part through the course. You have to be able to get through the obstacles and you have to be able to carry the engine.
